Roy Lee

Roy Lee is a Rochester native who studied Journalism at SUNY Brockport college. Prior to being in broadcast journalism, he conducted interviews and wrote music and movie reviews for (UDIGGMagazine), an online magazine company. During Roy’s journey, he never expected to be a radio personality, it happened organically. Initially Roy came on the SFTU2.0 podcast as a guest. Roy asked to come on to discuss ignorance in hip-hop and it’s affects on the community in 2013. He went from taping DJ Chris G’s show as a child to co-hosting with him. He is humbled and appreciative of his visions coming to fruition. In addition to co-hosting Straight from the Underground, he’s an author and host of an interview segment. Culture Cultivators is featured on the Straight from the Underground 2.0 podcast and also on www.intheloopradio.net. Roy’s favorite song is “I Can” by Nas, because it is a lyrical narrative of African history, empowerment, and encouragement.
