RCTV’s radio station 100.9 WXIR is a low power FM station that serves the communities within an approximate 10 mile radius of RCTV’s tower, located at 21 Gorham Street in Rochester, NY, through which the signal is carried. In addition to serving the local community, 100.9 WXIR can be listened to on our website at www.1009wxir.com or by downloading the Tunein app.

While WXIR does present some nationally syndicated programming, the majority of the shows are produced by local hosts and DJs and focus on the local community in and around Rochester, NY. The programming for 100.9 WXIR is carefully curated to represent an urban alternative focus, and includes:

• Talk shows
• Live call-in programs
• Music shows
• Radio drama
• Comedy
• Multi-cultural programming
• Other creative content that will make for entertaining listening, and that cannot be found on commercial radio stations.

Our goal for programming is to be a representative of the Rochester Community. It is also to serve an overlooked and underserved population within Rochester.

The Audience for 100.9 WXIR

100.9 WXIR is received via broadcast transmission within communities approximately eight miles from RCTV’s tower. In addition to the potential local audience of over 500,000 people. WXIR is also available online via computers, cell phones and other electronic devices.

Underwriting on 100.9 WXIR

To make WXIR’s unique audience available to small businesses and to help hosts and DJs (hereinafter called “Producers”) underwrite their shows, we are offering the sponsorship opportunities listed below.

Radio Spot for a specific program – In the event that a small business or individual is interested in affiliation with the show produced by a particular Producer, that Producer would have the opportunity to create a radio spot to be included in his or her show, that would include music, a voiceover and a unique sponsor-specific message, based on a unique sponsor-specific message.

Event Spot – In the event that an organization is holding a free or paid event and is interested in underwriting a show produced by a particular host or DJ, that radio personality would have the opportunity to create a short radio spot to be included in their show. The length of the spot may be determined at the Producer’s discretion and would include music, a voiceover and a unique sponsor-specific message.

Run of Placement on WXIR – In the event a sponsor wishes to purchase spots that would appear across the entire day part (ROP or Run of Placement), Sponsor should be referred directly to Andre Williams for assistance by email at awilliams@rctvmedia.org or by calling (585) 325-1238.
